Secrets from Mother India: Sesame Oil

Sesame Oil is a tasty oil that can be used for cooking and health purposes. It plays a HUGE role in natural healing, as you will see mentioned below.

Oil pulling
This may be a complete new concept to you but I tell you, it does MIRACLES! Oil pulling is an ancient old, ayurvedic method of cleansing the mouth, teeth, and tongue by swishing oil around in the mouth. It is to be done first thing in the morning for most effective results. Swishing around the sesame oil (preferred) between the teeth for 10-20 minutes collects all the bacteria that have been accumulating there overnight, literally "pulling" them out of your system. It is a very effective detox!
It cures plenty of diseases, keeps your teeth and gums healthy and strong, and has an amazing overall effect on your body and health.
I have been doing oil pulling for three months now and I have benefitted a lot from it! All my acne and skin blemishes have totally cleared, my allergies have significantly decreased, and whenever I do have any sinus congestions- after swishing, the passages open up completely within seconds and i can breath again! I highly recommend this for people who are suffering from headaches, sinus congestions, runny noses, and acne. See the chart below from www.oilpulling.org for diseases cured:

How does it work:?

1. First thing in the morning, take a cap-full of sesame oil
2. Keep it in your mouth and swish it around for as long as possible (10-20 minutes)
3. Don't gargle with it!
4. The oil will turn white after a couple of minutes, this is normal. After you are done, spit it out in the toilet
5. Rinse your mouth well with warm water
6. Drink 1-2 glasses of water
7. Enjoy and experience the immediate effects!

PS: NEVER swallow the oil!!!
..."When Dr Karsch examined the gargled milk-white oil under a microscope with 600 magnification, he saw live organisms swimming in it. It's poisonous, so never swallow it, he warns. These poisons are bacteria-embryos, which, if not eliminated, cause diseases. Apparently, Dr Karsach cured his own chronic blood disease and 15-year-old arthritis.
The first sign of improvement is in the teeth-they become firm and white, he says. Other healing indications: fresh, relaxed feeling on waking up, disappearing dark pouches below the eyes, anew appetite and energy, better memory and deep sleep..."

Hair
Sesame oil is very good for the hair as well. It nourishes the hair, keeps it soft, and is a great alternative for coconut oil to keep the hair in good shape. It can be applied during abhyanga, an oil bath/massage-

Oil Bath (Abhyanga)
Taking an oil bath is an amazing experience! I have never done it before coming here, and now i can't imagine living without it. Sesame oil is a good oil to use on colder days, or if you generally get cold quickly. It has a warming effect on the body.
Heat the oil slightly so that it's comfortably warm.. Apply it on the head and rub it into the scalp. From there on you apply the oil all over your body, from the face down. Be generous and soak your body in oil, massaging it so it can enter the skin. Allow it to stay on for some time, before washing it off either with natural soap, or with powder made of green gram.
You will feel so refreshed afterwards! As if you had just gone to the spa.... yet it's so easy to do in your own home! It nourishes the skin, reduces stress, and rejuvenates your whole system. Enjoy!
